Herts Open Studios 2022
Herts Open Studios is the not-to-be-missed opportunity to experience the world of art first-hand, to meet and get to know the amazingly talented artists in our Hertfordshire community.
Fresh insights every moment of every day ... is there an artist you already adore? Are you looking to discover something new? Use our online map and other fantastic search features to plan your visits and remember that our Open Studios Brochure is a fantastic resource too.
With many venues across the county opening their doors, there's bound to be something for everyone, with plenty to see, do and experience.
On each local area Art Trail you'll find working studios, demonstrations and group exhibitions in pop-up galleries - all free to enter, and offering exceptional art experiences.
Many of our artists and makers will also be running additional special events and workshops during Open Studios. There are so many opportunities to get involved and spend time with an artist at their venue, perhaps enjoy demonstrations, and maybe take part in artist-led workshops too.

About Jackie O’Keeffe
I am an intuitive emotive multimedia artist from Hertfordshire, predominately working in acrylics. My work is built up layer upon layer, sometimes adding collage and marking into the paint, with different tools and other mediums to create unique art. Ideas form within my mind as I paint and memories of how places or events in life have made me feel often emerge in my paintings. My current work is focused on figures, colours and the relationship between humans and animals. Creatures often show up in my work, where you least expect them.
I am fascinated by the power of colour, from how it affects our feelings and emotions, to how colours work together beautifully in life and art. My trade colour is turquoise and in all my paintings you will find this beautiful colour, that reminds me of the stunning turquoise sea and how good it makes you feel.
I have two different styles, and both mean so much to me, one is a graffiti art style, which is completely intuitive and changes with every layer of paint. I use bold bright colours applied with various techniques and painted on large canvas frames. My other style is more focused on the human form and the power of colours working together, they often have an ethereal feel to them and are painted on wood with acrylic and oil paints.
As a member of Herts Visual Arts, Dacorum Creatives, Rickmansworth Arts Society and Beechwood Art Society, I regularly exhibit my artwork in local exhibitions in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire including the Dacorum Creatives Gallery.
Please take a look at my other artwork or if you would like to discuss a commission. It can be viewed at:
