Post-screening Q&A with Mishaal Memon
Mishaal is a Writer-Director based in London/South East England. His short Shoot Your Shot was funded by the BFI Network, premiering at Outfest Fusion in LA and going onto an international festival run. He is currently developing other shorts and writing his first feature. His work often explores the immigrant experience, young people, masculinity, queerness, and overall just having fun with genre and creating impactful narrative experiences. He is also a freelance VFX Artist and Editor, having worked on projects for Nike, Radiohead, L'Oreal, ITV, Mindseye, including on award-winning shorts, commercials, music videos and independent features, as well as on-set experience working on Disney's Pinocchio and Cruella. At any given time, you are likely to find him scurrying around in a bandit-like fashion around the BFI Southbank and the surrounding Waterloo area.
